CEO - Director of Education
Michael Manley PCE QTLS
Director of Education and founder of Direction Learning I am a qualified teacher graduating from Greenwich University with QTLS Status and CAVA level 3 and a Level 4 in Leading Internal Quality Assurance. I am passionate about providing an excellent learning experience when studying any of our courses. I have worked in an SEN school for over 6 years and over 3 years as a teaching assistant and a cover supervisor. I have a lot of understanding when it comes to supporting students with additional needs and enjoy supporting people to continue being inspired in the sector. I also have a background in Drama and Dance and enjoy watching musicals and directing shows when I have time.
Also have two cats and a dog!
Lead Assessor - Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
Debra has 12 years assessing following a career as a TA, Behaviour Support Worker and Family Support worker.
Primarily assess teaching assistants as well as Understanding Autism, Behaviour that Challenges, Safeguarding & Caring for Children and Young People. I have an interest in anything related to education, think being a TA is a fab job and I’m passionate about my learners all achieving their qualifications.
Married to Tim I have three grown up children and a crazy spaniel called Florence.
Assessor - Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
I am a Qualified Assessor and a HLTA and have over 5 years experience working with students with SEN needs. I love travelling and spending my time immersed in other cultures. I have an active interest in cooking and food, as well as how different cultures view food.
IQA for - Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
I have worked in Further Education and Training since 2009. With an occupational background in Social Work, I have worked in schools, residential settings and with children, young people and their families for over 20 years.
I currently provide assessment and quality assurance services for a range of training providers and FE provisions.I cover the Children and Young People, Health and Social Care and Education sectors.Including Diploma and Apprenticeship qualifications for the Children, Young People and Families Practitioner, Teaching Assistant and School Business Professional.
I have an eye for detail and enjoy the range of tasks that Quality Assurance involves. Providing support for the curriculum, tutors, and learner’s, I feel the opportunities to support the whole learning and assessment journey enables me to provide individualised support and really see the bigger picture, striving to grow the provision and ensure the highest quality of practice.
I have a personal passion for learning and thoroughly enjoy stretching myself to develop my own knowledge, understanding and skills.I maintain my occupational competence within my sectors through CPD activities with children and young people and my voluntary role as a Governor within a Hampshire Primary School.
June is a qualified hairdresser and was a manger of her own salon and is bringing her administration skills to Direction Learning by managing bookings and answering your very important phone calls.
IQA for Education and Training & Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
Wendy Ward is a qualified teacher (with QTLS status), assessor, and lead IQA specialising in delivering Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Wendy has been working in the UK’s education system since 2005. She started as a TA and gradually worked up through the ranks. She has first-hand experience of primary, secondary, tertiary settings, including SEND and alternative provision. Wendy has used her experience and knowledge to help her learners within their own work/voluntary placements to achieve their qualifications. Many of her learners have gone on to further studies, including becoming HLTA’s, phonics intervention specialists, and teachers.
When Wendy isn’t working, she has two Bedlington Terrier dogs, Sprocket and Tilly, that keep her busy.
